    Is there any hope (help?) for those of us who don’t have an ice cream maker? Any tips on how we might make the sorbet, or are we out of luck?

      Thanks, Elizabeth! Recovery is never fun (especially when it’s so hot), but it’s going better than the last knee surgery. I just want to get back to the kitchen!

      Yes, you can make ice cream and sorbet without an ice cream maker. Basically, you put it in the freezer and take it out and stir about every 30-40 minutes, and throw it back in the freezer. Actually, that’s what we ended up doing since it didn’t freeze properly in our ice cream maker.     I literally just made this but I think it came out slightly too sweet for my tastes. Also added two tsp of lemon juice and maybe another tsp of sugar.

    Only had a little taste though so we’ll see how it is when I eat a whole scoop!

      After letting it sit in the freezer for 2 hours, it actually tastes quite good! All it needed was a little more time :)
