Cake batter tastes wonderful. Making a unicorn cake for a gal at work. A suggestion for people who (like me) only have two cake pans, bake the rainbow colors backwards ex purple and blue together, green and yellow, and then orange and red. That way you can start to layer the cakes and fill while you are waiting for the others to cool. =)

Maybe it was the dye I used (I used all Wilton gel dyes), or perhaps the way the dye interacts with the other ingredients. I think this cake will be great with chocolate frosting! Enjoy!
